#815 Shooting the Night Away

Today's comic almost never saw the light. First off I almost skipped this episode. At the last minutes I thought, well, it didn't really add much to the story. It's just the gang playing craps and so it may be a little boring to those who don't care about the game. But the blue-line rough drafts turned out kinda fun so I thought I'd just go with it. Then when all the illustrations were complete and ready for words...somehow I deleted the script. So I had to do a mad scramble to remember the dialog I wrote and get the comic out on time. And there you have it. How not to do a web comic. Still, it's a fun throw away strip today, But I'm anxious to move on and get to some more interesting parts of the story.

  1. Seems like it’s everyone’s night but Dave’s πŸ™

  2. Marriage for $65? Sounds like Devon’s in hard times! πŸ˜‰

  3. Dave can’t catch a break when rolls the dice, but at least he got a smirk out of Shannon, right? πŸ˜€

Eric, save that story for the book version of the comic, it’ll make for interesting liner notes, or whatever they call them. πŸ˜‰

    1. I see Shannon’s expression as a look of annoyance and a “Not cool dude, just stop.” Shannon and Dave’s sex life directly resulted in Mark dumping her and not wanting her back, so I could see why she didn’t want Dave to make any jokes about her with innuendo in them.

That’s about right. Shannon and Dave still have a bit of prickly history between them.

  4. This may be a throwaway comic but it does show some unique character traits. Dave got insta-karmic punishment for joking about Shannon’s sex life (which is still a touchy subject because it led to Mark dumping her) and Annabelle is being very British. (Who in America says “knickers”?) I like it.
