871 In the Shadows

Sorry for the late start today. I thought I had today's comic on automatic update. Time for another character shift as we cycle through the new plot lines.

  1. Yep, here we go with another drama-go-round, this time the spin landed on Devon. I can see how Annabel might be able to take this in stride, up to a point, but there’s no way this arc ends without hurt feelings somewhere. I think it’s quite normal for Devon to be distracted and nervous, but time will tell if these two weather the storm that’s apparently about to hit. Hopefully Devon is selling her parents short a little, but I’m not holding my breath.

    1. That being said, I’m going to hope for an outcome similar to the one Emrys had with his mom after Beth talked to her. After all, it’s hard to let go when you’re a parent, and maybe if Devon can demonstrate her maturity, using those examples Annabel provided and some emotional steadiness, maybe it will be okay?

I’m running short on hope these days, but I have a little bit after the way the road trip arc ended. No matter what happens though, I know Eric won’t pull any punches and we’ll get the story that’s supposed to be.

  2. “Aye, there’s the rub.” as one might append to the last panel.

  3. Last panel: Not yet.

Anyway, here it seems an excrement is about to hit a ventilation.

  4. My one criticism here is, I hate that phrase “good money.” Money is never good or bad. It’s inherently neutral. That is all.
