  1. Thanks you for your stories. They are the reason you have amassed your readers after all. Cheers and let us go for the next thousand. 😀

    1. Thank you very much. I look forward to the next thousand as well!

  2. Happy 1000th Page! Now that’s a wonderful milestone to hit and I’m so happy to have been here for it! Was it really 2013 when you started? Wow, the time certainly flies and yet, so much has happened, both to the world around us and to the world of ‘Bohemian Nights’. We’ve had highs, lows, laughs and tears. I for one would like to thank you for them all and wish you years more success! Okay, I also want to continue reading about these folks, which is a sign that your writing has been quite solid, when a real person cares about what happens to (several) fictional people in a fictionalized version of the world… Well, that means you’ve done it right!
So now, we continue on our journey with these ‘friends’ we hope for success and happiness and yet we know that’s not going to be the case for all… But I hope to be here for the next 1000 pages… Thank you Eric. And this page is beautfiul and has impact… So you once again have done it right.

  3. Wow, thank you so much for your kind words. I’m so glad you enjoy reading the comic as much as I love writing it. Although I have a general idea where the stories are going, I’m looking forward to seeing where the characters take me, too.

  4. “you don’t need fantasy or sci-fi elements, funny animals or strange apocalyptic settings to grab an audience as long as the stories are good, the characters believable and artwork eye catching”
Truth, and you deliver all three.

“the final Fate of Dave in which everyone will know of by the end of next chapter”
Yikes, that does sound final. Not really looking forward to it, but sometimes life is like that. Thank you for keeping it real and making our lives a little richer.

    1. the final Fate of Dave in which everyone will know of by the end of next chapter”
      Yes. Absolutely. If not sooner.
And I may still have a curve ball or two that I’ve been planning for this…

  5. Awesome milestone Eric! And still a master of illumination, poetically and visually!

    1. Thank you so much, Rob. I appreciate it.

  6. Congratulations on 1000 pages! Your work continues to improve with time and I am defintinely on board for Chapter 8.

#1000 We Held Gold Dust in our Hands

A thousand episodes! Really? A thousand episodes?

When I started this comic in the summer of 2013, I never thought I’d even make it to a hundred much less a thousand. But Here I am nearly eleven years later and still plugging away at it. Although back then I was putting out a page at a mind numbing three times a week for the first year or so. If I remember correctly, I think I was losing my mind back then too. I then dropped to a comfortable twice a week and maintained that schedule for nearly the entire remaining run. Only this past year or so I’ve had to drop to once a week (something that, if it was up to me, I’d still be posting twice a week if I could.)

Bohemian Nights started as a way of brushing off some of my memories of when I was in my twenties and repackaging them in a sort of wish-fulfillment kind of therapy. Many of the old comics had events that were taken straight from my own experiences. But as the characters grew, so did their stories and after a while it was THEY who told ME where they wanted the story to go.

Now, a thousand posts later (and over a hundred Patreon exclusive posts), I am astonished at the readership it has accumulated. Proving that you don’t need fantasy or sci-fi elements, funny animals or strange apocalyptic settings to grab an audience as long as the stories are good, the characters believable and artwork eye catching.

For the success of Bohemian Nights, I really only have one person to thank.

You! The Reader!

It is for you that I do this comic and I thank each and every one of you for visiting this website week in and week out to see what becomes of this group of twenty something misfits. I thank you all for the comments you have left over the years, proving that you are truly vested in the characters (and know them almost as well as I do.) I thank each and every person who has contributed to Patreon over the years. Your generosity and kindness is without parallel. You have helped in so many ways in keeping the nuts and bolts of this comic going. I am eternally grateful and thankful to you all!

And although this 1000 episode ended on a sort of bitter-sweet note, it is by no means the end. I got plenty of stories still in me so if you’re willing to continue coming back (and telling others about the comic), I’ll keep putting them out!

Speaking of this 1000th episode…yes, it’s the end of the 7th chapter, which means next week is dark with no comic.(which by no means does it mean I’m not doing anything. I still got to put out a Patreon comic and I’m working on redoing the masthead (which I thought I would be done with by #1000, but it looks like it will be up by the 11th anniversary in June.)  as well as the two or three page beginning of next chapter post. )

So what’s coming up in the future of these age-old friends and lovers? I can let a few things slip out.

First, there is the fall out between Devon and Annabel and the most important question plaguing them: can they find their way back together? There is also more with the relationships between Beth and Emrys, Jeff and JoJo and Shannon and Robert with a few surprises thrown in here and there. There is the continuing evolution of Stephanie as well. And of course, the final Fate of Dave in which everyone will know of by the end of next chapter.

There are a few other subplots I’ll bring into the light as well. Some of which were already started if you looked carefully. And Beth’s sister will elevate to one of the main characters (and being added to the masthead).

But we’ll begin with some lighter fare as we go through the holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) where we get reacquainted with some of our character’s parents…including the for the first time, the whole Primrose brood!

So I guess I’ll leave it here and simply say once more…Thank you all! This has been a labor of love and you all have helped make this dream come true.
