#780 Obligatory Pool Montage

So....yeah. I guess today's comic is a little bit of a cheat. Things I wanted to add but didn't really have the script for so....montage! (Feel free to insert your own dialog.) I'll get back to the meat of the story Friday. Work has been kicking my ass these weeks and I'm looking forward to a week off from everything real soon. I still want to get in a couple more comics before I take my usual week off break though. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Happy Holidays.

    I don’t know how this pool scene would end… I was thinking Beth would flirt with Emrys to the point where she would almost kiss him only to be interrupted by Jeff cannonballing into the pool… in a way that happened and yet didn’t.

    I hope Shannon makes prints of that group photo and gives a copy to Emrys, and that picture is the visual aid he needs to step up to his mother and tell her that he’s staying in Portland to be with his friends.

    Nice montage. Just those Beth’s legs at top right corner Are quite mindfuck. Or she has some disfigurement we haven’t seen before.

    Emrys and Beth look quite comfortable together, which is an important waypoint on the way to whatever future there is in store for them. I’d prefer that if there’s deeper intimacy in that future, it emanate from and plant its roots deeply in that mutual comfort.

    Emrys and Beth are both damaged to some extent. We all are. We can only hope to find a partner that helps heal our damage. A partner that compliments us. It has to go both ways. We all have our internal challenges.

    Really enjoy your work. That it’s local only adds to the fun.

    You mean Jeff cannonballed practically on top of Devon and she hasn’t killed him yet? She must have mellowed after a little while in the pool. 😀

    I hope you have a great week off, Eric! I know what you mean about work stomping on you, it’s been ridiculously busy all year and I have so much to get done before the end of the year it’s not funny. Everyone keeps trying to be optimistic that next year will somehow be better, but speaking honestly, based on what I’ve see on the news, I don’t share that optimism, unfortunately.

    I am, however, optimistic about Beth’s and Emrys’ developing relationship, which is much more entertaining than work. 🙂

    Got a couple more comics I want to post before I collapse… I’m hoping next year will be much better than this year.
