#539 An Offer on the Table

  1. 3rd Panel, far right:

“I got a crappy studio apartment I share with and extended roach family”
    should be
“I got a crappy studio apartment I share with an extended roach family”

That said, I am surprised Joanna is his first visitor (that we have seen)
I know most of the rest of the group is busy, but Jeff has known him longer and should have been able to figure out something is up. (Mark stops coming by the bar, Shannon upset, Dave bragging, what have you)

Or in shorter words: “Dammit Jeff, you had one job! Be funny and cheer up your friends!”

Thanks Kace. (Any more mistakes and I’ll have to start giving you an editorial salary. 😉 )
As for Mark, I never thought that he never had any visitors, just that he didn’t hang out with his friends at their usual haunts recently. Mark’s just become a bit of a hermit, nursing his wounds. I’d like to think Jeff has come by on occasion, but with Mark’s mood, probably didn’t stay too long.
Unfortunately, with this comic, I can’t show every thing that happens to all the characters each day. (for one thing, I think it will be extremely boring.) I can just show you the main stories and help fill in the off times with exposition.

  2. Also, “My likfe is great” in the upper left of the third panel. I hope that was an author error (since Dave being that drunk could lead to events[which might well happen anyway]).

    Oh bloody hell…
Thanks Richard. I must have been more off on my edits than I thought.
    Both fixed now. 🙂

  4. Is the soundtrack for this one “Flagpole Sitta”? Because Jojo’s pretty much quoting the chorus in panel 2.

Love the aerial view of Mark’s space, and also the fact that his wardrobe seems to consist only of jeans now 🙂 And I’m happy to see he hasn’t pawned his drums.

The lyric reference was purely coincidental.
I like the bird’s eye view of his studio apartment too. It looks a lot like the tiny one I had many years ago.

  5. Go, Jojo, go! I don’t care if you have an ulterior motive right now, just get the poor guy back on the road instead of lying in the ditch. 🙂

I think she may need to be careful of Mark’s ulterior motives.

      1. Yeah, there is that too, but I don’t think she’s oblivious to the possibility. After all, she was the one checking him out at the bar and trying to get his attention. There’s enough warning signs to go around, but I’m trusting her to play it smart and Mark to not do something incredibly wrong.
