733 Emrys and Shannon

I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope it's not a train. Kids are out of school for the summer and my hours are being rearranged a little allowing more time to draw in the morning starting next week. Now I just need to catch up on the comic. Things have been quite frantic at my work (for those of you unfamiliar, I basically have the same job Jeff has). But with everything that's been going on in the world of late, we've lost over half our call center in one month. We are stretched so thin we are all at the breaking point. The place is ill managed and we're working on technology from the 90's. I would quit with the rest of them but....kids and mortgage. So that's why I've been barely making my posting times and running behind on the Patreon comics. But I do see a little space opening up time wise so fingers crossed I can start to catch up.   Oh...and if any of you are wondering about Emrys.... it does take a little while for mushrooms to kick in.

    “Pessimist sees darkness. Optimist sees light at the end of tunnel. Realist sees coming train. Train conductor sees three dumbasses in tunnel.” Well, I am mostly train conductor 🙂 And here is also said “Optimist is not enough informed pessimist” 🙂

    And of course it takes to shrooms to kick in. The fastest kick in drug is alcohol which needs 10 minutes.

    Weird seeing Shannon and Emrys having a heart to heart moment. I never thought they were that close.

      They haven’t been super close, but that’s kind of what this whole trip is about. All the friends reconnecting in some way. At it’s core, all these people would do anything for each other.

    Ha – I was just thinking about how I missed Mark a couple days ago when I read the last page, and I still didn’t recognize his hoodie till Shannon pointed it out. Nice one.

    And nice setup for an intense trip – it’s Emry’s first time and he’s still raw from the breakup with Stephanie AND now he’s thinking about his dead friend shot by the cops too? Oh man …

    I like this quiet moment with those two, who both seem to be struggling more than the rest right now. I could see these two, who both appear to be more sensitive people than the others, in their own ways, becoming close friends. 🙂
