1018 Hard Choices

  1. So, let’s see if this is repairable.

  2. The way Annabelle called Devon’s attempting to explain herself as “”gaslighting” kind of sent a signal to me that Annabelle put up so many walls that a single strike, such as kissing another girl, is an instant out. Honestly, I’m siding with Annabelle on this one. Devon gave into temptation and paid for it by losing the best thing that happened to her. I think that if there’s any hope of reconciliation, Annabelle should be the one to reach out, not Devon. That would at least send a signal that Annabelle is at least willing to listen. I think if Devon makes the first move it’ll only lead to a restraining order.

  3. Forgiveness begins by first letting go of the hurt. Hurt to your pride, to your feelings, and to your sense of what is fair and just. The problem for all of us, as humans, is that it is a very hard thing to do, even with practice, the closer that person is to you. Ultimately though, the only way to get rid of the pain is to find a way to let it go.
Whether the relationship is salvageable or not is not the issue, that would just be the happy ending, but both Devon and Anabel need to find a way to put this behind them, otherwise it will poison them for the rest of their lives.

  4. Devon should say – the only thing she should say is –
I was so wrong. I am so broken, so incredibly sorry, so grieving how I have hurt you.
    Will you forgive me?
    Please forgive me.

  5. I think Devon’s getting a raw deal here. I’m not thinking that Annabelle is a bad person, but she’s overreacting. If she’d caught Devon in bed with someone, it might be different, but this is over the top. I don’t believe Devon has done anything so bad that she doesn’t deserve a second chance.
