767 Helping Hands

And with that, we are half way through the road trip. I am busy working on the next batch of scripts and doing a lot of re-writes. The next half is crucial and I want the story just right. So for a type of intermission, next week I'll be posting a selection of images I've drawn about the road trip. Images that convey the feeling of the trip more than the actual story can capture. This will give me some much needed extra time to work on the script. I'm hoping to get back to the actual story in a week (week and a half?) but I'll be posting something so it won't actually be dark. Next stop.... Los Angeles.

  1. First panel, last bubble: I think BY doing so, not I think BE doing so.

….also kind of looks like it is coming from Beth for a moment.

Also Hand Holding. Got to love the subtle flirt and acceptance between these two.

As always, thanks for the assist. fixed.

  2. β€œWhoever must decide is going through torture.” Old Saying. I bet Emrys has a lot more reasons to stay in Portland than he admits to himself.

I think you’re right. But will duty win out…?

  3. Yay!! ( love your comic by the way)

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. πŸ™‚

  4. Looks like Emrys got Portland anchor πŸ˜€

  5. Whereas it was easy to see Emrys hugging Shannon as just a display of platonic friendship, holding hands with Beth is a LOT more complicated to decipher, since Emrys has had a crush on Beth the entire story and Beth fairly recently figured out that she has the same feelings. Questions, though, are 1.) have the most recent events with Rich and Stephanie soured their outlook on letting someone into their lives, and 2.) Will Emrys’s mom cause a rift that not only hurts any chance Emrys had with Beth, but the entire gang in general? Ultimately a decision must be made, his mom or Portland…

Although from the way you put Stephanie into the interlude, I’m thinking the decision has already been made since she seems to be set up to come back into Emrys’s life eventually, and he physically needs to be in Portland for that to happen, yes?

Great analysis. Only time will tell. But you won’t have to wait too long. πŸ˜‰

  6. Emrys, I know you’re being thrown for a loop here, there and everywhere, but dang dude, the signs couldn’t be much clearer at this point, so take a chance and go for the gold. I know I would in your place, but that’s a twenty plus year life experience advantage as a bachelor speaking, so your mileage may vary.

Now, I grant you that I’d be the last one to tell you to ditch family when they truly need it, but Beth has a salient point and even with the people you love, sometimes all you can do is your best to help out and then let them figure out the rest. The distance may make physical assistance difficult, but help is really only a phone call away. Besides, don’t forget why you moved in the first place, maybe it’s better for your relationship with your mother than you think?

  7. Really glad I’m working from home at this time. Because I just fistpumped in the air. Huzzah! GO FORTH AND BE HEALTHY FOR ONE ANOTHER YA GITS!
