#552c Reader Questions Part 3

And that's the end of the questions for now. I still got some more for a later date (And feel free to ask away in the comments section whenever you want to). At this very moment, I should be in Las Vegas at the Amazing Las Vegas Comic con, nursing a hangover and preparing for another night of debauchery. If you're reading this and in the Vegas area, stop on by. I got Drinker's Hell games, Deflectors comics and a bunch of sketches just waiting to get into your hands. I'd love to meet you.

  1. Oddly enough, those answers were fairly predictable, though it’s nice to have some confirmation, and it’s especially fun hearing from Jeff. 😀

Dave has obviously fallen into the trap of, “I don’t know how to do anything else so that means I can’t learn how to do anything else.” Skills are something that you acquire in life, whether by choice or circumstance, and selling himself short like that is just feeding his self-destructive behavior, which is sad, because I bet if he cleaned himself up a bit he’d be a lot happier and could build a long term relationship if he put his mind to it. Dave isn’t stupid, his observation about living for the moment proves that to some degree, so that just leaves fear keeping him from being more than he already is now, which is a very common problem. Hopefully he finds some peace of mind sooner rather than later and begins to haul himself out of the hole he’s dug for himself. Maybe with a little help from his friends that still stand by him even while he’s at a low point. 😉

Regarding Annabel’s answer, I was actually pretty sure she wasn’t into Monty Python and the like just by what we’ve seen of her personality so far, and it doesn’t surprise me that she doesn’t like American entertainment. Generally speaking, I don’t think Brits care much about entertainment from outside their country, which is pretty normal when you consider how different cultures can be from one place to the next. The frame of reference is different, the sense of humor is different, and even the storytelling styles vary, especially between Eastern and Western civilizations. Speaking for myself though, I enjoy a lot of British shows and some from other countries in Europe, Australia and Canada. I guess that’s one of the more fun parts of being American; we’re a melting pot of cultures and that changes your perspective. 🙂

I’m looking forward to the continuation of the story, but this week’s answer have been fun! 😀

Yeah, a lot of the answers probably didn’t come as much of a surprise for most people but they did reinforce some character traits in them. (I’m keeping all the secret stuff to be reveled for the comic itself. 😉

  2. Weirdly, I think I like Dave a little more now.

Well good. He can’t be all bad. Otherwise I don’t think the rest of them would put up with him.
