A very good point. When she saw Devon staring at her and then Tori waved hello, she correctly made the assumption that that was the infamous Tori. BUT I did also make a mistake. Somewhere between script and final comic, There was a word balloon missing from this comics first panel where Tori introduces herself and her friend (Hailey). I’ll see if I can fix that in the next day or two. Thanks for drawing that to my attention. 🙂
Eric, you’re welcome. I was thinking that the way Devon stared at Tori could have triggered something in Annabel’s mind. That’s not completely far-fetched in my opinion, given what we’ve learned about her so far. But I think your idea is better.
Devon, Devon, Devon… if you’re trying to convince your ex girlfriend to take you back, you do NOT look at other girls, ESPECIALLY THE GIRL WHO WAS THE REASON YOU BROKE UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!
I actually didn’t catch the part where Tori’s name wasn’t mentioned in the first draft. I thought Annabelle was just dismayed that Devon was STILL looking at other women after that impassioned plea to take her back. To her it would’ve meant that Devon hadn’t changed. But now that she sees that this woman is THE Tori, I can see even more reason why her heart would be shattered. Devon clearly isn’t over her crush. And Annabelle doesn’t want to risk losing to Tori, so the best way to win the game of love is not to play at all.
Poor Devon seems to have the worst look, at least regarding her relationship with Annabel. I say “seems” because maybe she isn’t ready yet for a permanent partner yet after all.

I don’t understand how Annabel recognizes Tori. I don’t recall Devon revealing that information to her.
