882 You say it’s your birthday…

And Devon's 25th birthday gets underway.

We also have another Patreon making his webcomic debut. Robert Merkstallinger all the way from Austria. He'll be weaving his way in and out of the party as it rolls on. Thank you, again for all your support. I hope you enjoy your appearances. You're now firmly placed in the Bohemian Nights universe.

These are trying times and kind of scary times. I never would have thought I'd be seeing what I'm seeing over in Europe in my lifetime. A big warm shout out to all my readers in that area. Be safe. Be kind. In the end, this is just a little comic that doesn't mean much. You're first priority is taking care of yourselves and each other. My heart goes out to you all.

  1. Last panel reminded me that meme, when Czech sees someone drinking nonalcoholic beverage, he calls police immediately 🙂

  2. Jeff encounters a strange alien being who will not get a hangover. 😉

  3. I’m with you Robert, who wants to ruin good fruit juice with booze? I do drink the occasional beer or glass of wine, but I never acquired a taste for hard liquor. 🙂

  4. I rarely drink alcoholic beverages, course that is because I come from a family of alcoholics, so I try not to tempt the evil eye

  5. Well, I’m with you, Thraceius. The smell of vodka reminds me of rubbing alcohol. I’m amazed it’s so popular. I’m also thinking, what if Robert drove to the party? He should be congratulated for driving sober, if he did.

  6. A lot of vodka brands do not smell at all, ChrisH.
It all varies on how it was distilled and whom made it.
But I’m pretty sure Jeff just picked a random bottle that most likely smells and tastes like rubbing alcohol

  7. I drink alcohol on a regular basis and have never had a hangover from it. I did wake up one time after getting dosed at a party (my friends were on caught it and nothing sketchy happened) and when I woke up the next morning my head was in several pieces and it took hours to put it back together afterward.

  8. And speaking of driving, it is a pretty sure way to earn you a permanent position as designated driver, Chris H. 😉

  9. Yep, Jeff’s most likely somewhere On the Spectrum. He does indeed remind me a bit of a distant acquaintance (mid-1960s to early-1970s) who was a good soul, but needed guidance while navigating interpersonal reefs and shoals.

  10. BTW I remember I was a bit depressed when I turned 23. That three, higher than number of decades of my life, hit me a bit more than i should. Later I felt old at 31, when it was 20 years from releasing of Half Life and StarCraft. And finally, the Christ Years, when I was 33. Next month I´ll be 35. Time flies. “Utíká to utíká, máš v prdeli hrálíka.”

  11. @Gorbi, I try to think “One day at a time.” It’s not always easy, but it’s well worth the effort. Robert reminds me of something my brother said to me once: “It can be fun to go to a party, stay sober, and observe how the drinking people behave.’ 🙂

Had this at our High School Graduation party 😀

  12. @Gorbi “Never trust a man who doesn’t drink.” 😉
