#970 New Couple in Town

Yup...things just go weird.

 

So some of you have inquired if I'll be at Rose City Comic Con in Portland this year. And for the first time in a long time I have to say I won't.

I had an opportunity to visit an old friend and stay with him...in Tokyo. And I took him up on his offer. Unfortunately I'll miss Rose City this year...but there's always next year.

I'll be gone two weeks starting this week. In the mean time, I've worked hard to get three comics done before I left. This one and two more while I'm gone, so hopefully I did everything right and those comics should automatically update while I'm gone.

    You know things are bad when even Jeff is unimpressed when butt fun is mentioned. I guess Dave is gonna get sacked from Gang soon.

    OK Eric. Enjoy Tokyo. You deserve some high quality rest. I still hope I can make it to Portland next summer.

      Agreed, but honestly, can you blame Jeff? After everything Stephanie but Emrys through it’s completely justifiable.

        I DEFINITELY don’t blame Jeff. I just state that when Jeff doesn’t crack anything to counter that info, situation is severely serious.

    Huh. I guess Stephanie’s genius plan isn’t working as well as she wanted it to, but can’t say I feel sorry for her. I do, however, feel sorry for Dave, or rather disappointed in him, but I’m not surprised that he’s even more messed up than usual. If your life revolves around sex and drugs eventually you’ll find yourself in trouble with no one to blame but yourself. I hope Dave learns something once Stephanie is done with him.

    Really kind of wondering what Steph’s master plan was when everyone, INCLUDING Dave, realized she was just using him to get back at Emrys. Emrys never really liked Dave in the first place, and I think his feelings for him soured even more since Mark died, so Steph hooking up with him isn’t going to make him bat an eyelash. If anything it’s one garbage human hooking up with another garbage human. I suppose Steph perhaps CAN turn this around if she can come to genuinely care about Dave and persuade him to make less crappy life decisions, but unlike Emrys, who thought he was in love with Steph and assumed her suggestions at changing his life was for the better, Dave only wants sex and seems to be too set in his ways to change himself, even if it is what he needs. I do believe there is a spark of good inside Steph, but she’s too blinded by her desire to hurt the man who rejected her to see that there’s a guy right in front of her who is in DESPERATE need of a positive influence, especially since his most recent actions have made his buddies throw their hands up and say “we’re done!”

      Nicely said, Corey. It’s probably a long shot, but it’d be a powerful result if Dave and Stephanie somehow learned to help each other become more whole people. 🙂
