Aww, Beth! Don’t be comparing yourself to her like that, it isn’t right. Good things come in small packages (no pun intended). 🙂
Also, Stephanie doesn’t have a clear picture of what she’s talking about, as there ARE comic artists that can do very well in the industry with the right skills and the right connections. It does take a lot of work, but it’s not a dead-end alley like she makes it out to be. Furthermore, who says being a comic artist means you can’t also draw storyboards or do other commission-based graphic design work? True, you generally see comics as the sideline, but there are exceptions to every rule, it just depends on the artist.
TL;DR – Get a second, third, fourth, fifth (and so on and so forth) opinion on the topic before making a leap, Emrys. 😉
All correct points. I think Stephanie has her own views on the subject that may or may not be in direct conflict with what is out there. We’ll get back to all that after the con…
It’s very nice of Stephanie to give Emrys advice, but her timing is off. She should let them all have fun first. And I’d tell Beth, the less you have, the less you need to take care of. 😕
