Ouch. That’s…gotta sting. I’m sure that story will be told at some point and we’ll be able to judge for ourselves if Beth is overreacting or not, but since the guys seem to be fairly…neutral?…on the past situation, I suspect that she has justification for being upset, even if she should find a way to let it go and move on. Right now, all signs point to her anger being more detrimental to her well-being and not harming Rich at all, but time will tell I suppose.
Guys and gals process emotions differently, which is one reason for misunderstandings between them, but based on my experience watching friends and loved ones deal with bad relationship situations, as tough as it may be, I think some of them need to learn how to forgive so it stops ruining their health, regardless of how justified they are feeling hurt. In the end, hate really only harms you and leaves you empty. As one of my favorite quotes from the Mass Effect RPG series says, “I don’t have time for hate.” It dovetails nicely with another quote from the same game that I’m very fond of, “Lie to youself all you want, but don’t lie to me and expect me to believe it.” Sometimes you just have to put yourself first and realize that, above all else, you are responsible for your own happiness in life, so make the most of it.

Forgiveness may come slowly for Beth. I’m sure it will help once she let’s out the story of her past. -when she’s ready for that.

I approve of Beth giving Jeff a pass.
