Emrys is probably down for the count, but Shannon’s right next to them, and given the conversation they had the last time they were at a pool together, I think Shannon might be the one to make Beth get out of the cycle of getting together with random hunks as she takes a step closer to a romantic relationship with Emrys. We KNOW Beth has finally acknowledged her feelings for Emrys, we just need her to not get distracted by temptation and finally confess. Otherwise she might end up like Shannon, who lost the love of HER life due to her succumbing to temptation and circumstances beyond her control.
I dunno, I think people might be selling Beth short here, though I confess I can’t read her mind. Her responses to Robert seem to be friendly, but not necessarily flirtatious, which is appropriate for someone you already know and like. Her body language is relaxed, which is normal for a lounge by the pool, and she hasn’t made any overt advances that I’ve seen, so I suspect she’s already made up her mind about Emrys and is choosing her moment, which likely won’t be while they are in Vegas.
Eric has previously mentioned that Beth is a Taurus, and while I don’t know how much I believe in astrology, I have found some descriptions of the various signs that are pretty spot on, at least for myself. If any of it can be believed, then Beth is the type who does not rush into a serious relationship and has to feel comfortable with them before opening up and moving forward, but once she is committed to the relationship, is very determined and loyal. We’ve already seen her open up to Emrys about her very personal past challenges, we’ve seen her read comics that he thinks highly of (Jack Kirby) to get an idea of his personal interests, we know she’s seen him naked already (that story was pretty hilarious) with no reservations in that regard, and we know that she’s advocated for him with his mother, something that neither he nor anyone else was willing to do. Those are all positive indicators, at least to me, that she’s been on a road to committing to an actual romantic relationship with Emrys if he makes his feelings clear and shows her the same respect and consideration. My guess is that she’s cutting him a lot of slack for his socially awkward behavior because she knows he’s a good person at heart and has enough background on him to find it somewhat amusing and endearing.
TL;DR – I think we should all sit back and watch how this plays out, because I think the best is yet to be revealed. 🙂
