Did Beth date any artists? Why is she so eager to say Emrys has a stable job and act as if Emrys’s art aspirations are nonexistent? Her family already seem to think Emrys is boring. Art at least makes him a little interesting, even if it’s just a side hustle.

  When dealing with a very judgmental family, especially when your boyfriend is meeting them for the first time, you want to ensure to present them as a good, logical and valued choice in potential partner. Parents like that sort of thing. It can make life so much easier, especially when some folks bring up things like your past choice of losers or the fact that you and he tend to do a few things the ‘Rents would not approve of.
