Well, Shannon may be shocked by Beth’s denial, but I am truly impressed by Devon’s worried expression in panel 4. She’s more attached to these gals than I would have thought after such a short duration, which is a pleasant surprise.
FYI Beth, they’re trying to be supportive (and surprisingly intuitive) friends, not railroad you into a relationship. Relax, grab a shower, go to work, and then get a good night’s sleep and think it over. You can thank them later.

Devon is pretty perceptive. And she let’s you know it. Sometimes that can be very helpful and sometimes she says too much. She needs to couple it with being more tactful.
I guess you can chalk up Beth’s reaction to a night of little sleep and a little shame. Sometimes it’s hard coming to grips with your own mistakes.
