743 The Diner Zone

I thought I'd leave it off here on a humorous note giving some cameos to some friends of mine. I'm taking off next week for my customary vacation from the comic. Long time readers will note that I take off one week in summer and one around Christmas. Not that I'll be going anywhere this year (obviously), but it will be nice to have a little down time with the family. So come back Monday July 27th for more of the big road trip story! Stay safe.

    Does the story of this comic run in current times, or is it several years ago? And when McD sounds like better alternative, then it must be a superbad restaurant.

      It’s not really current times, (thankfully), but fairly recently. I’ve made it a point not to pin point it down to an actual time, if one even exists for the comic.

    I hate to say this, but after the gang losing Mark (and with good riddance to that PITA buzz-kill Stephanie!!), we need something upbeat and fun to work with.
    I think Kate just might be the thing. With her sense of humor, let’s hope she jettisons this diner to and joins our merry cast of outcasts as a new regular.

    We need her.

      Kate (a real person who begged me to be put in the comic and even supplied me with the idea of being a crazy waitress) will most likely be just a guest appearance here. But you do bring up an interesting fact that the comic needs more light moments and more humor. I’ll try to do that. It’s tough these days to find that writing spot in me. The road trip was meant to be a lighter storyline than the more heavy stuff I’ve been doing. But that doesn’t mean there may not be some conflict along the road…
