#569 What Friends Do

Off to Rose City this weekend. If you're in or around Portland OR. this weekend, please come on by. I'll have all the usual stuff...comics...drinking game...yada yada yada... Artist Alley...yada yada yada...Table E3.... I'll also take all artist submissions. Now's the time for that one-of-a-kind picture you've been dying for. (Or at least living mildly uncomfortably for).   The BIG news is I'll also have the 3rd issue of the Deflectors, hot off the presses. Come get your debut issue! But if you can't make it, it will be available at the Bohemian Nights Storenvy storefront as well as a few select comic shops down in Southern California (to be named soon). $5 or more Patreons of this comic will also receive a free comic in the mail as well. And If I don't catch you this time around, I'll also be in Tacoma WA., Nov. 3-4 for Jet City sitting with the actual Defectors Artist (and good friend) Andy MacPhee. Both of us will be signing copies and taking art submissions and drinking heavily.

      …for the moment anyway.

  2. Stephanie seems like the sort who was cutoff emotionally from an early age and has learned to rely almost entirely on herself for everything, including her own version of “emotional support”. If that’s true, it’s really sad, because it denies her the benefits of having true friends and experiencing the sometimes life altering gratitude that makes one realize how lucky we are to have people we can truly trust in our lives. I think she’s going to find out that “physical stuff” is not all there is to a relationship, and it wouldn’t surprise me if she dumps Emrys because she has trouble figuring that out. If she actually cares for him though, I see some tough emotional maturation in her future.

Have a great time at the convention, Eric! I’ll try to make it to the one in Tacoma. 🙂

    1. Also, a little blog for you to read from a fellow comics creator that you might appreciate: http://www.starpowercomic.com/comparison-can-kill-you/

      Hang in there, man. 🙂

Thank you. This was a nice shot in the arm, especially for this weekend. I think I’ll be re-posting this.

You, sir, have an uncanny ability to read these characters well. -I may have to put you on the payroll.

      1. HA! Well, isn’t a good thing I work for peanuts then. 😉

        1. Err, that should have been *it’s a good thing*. Typoland. 😉

  3. Maybe Stephanie shouldn’t even have shown up. She just doesn’t seem to be able to handle the situation.

I think Emrys is thinking the same thing.
