Hey folks! I'm off to the Beach for a family vacation this week. I won't have any time to draw so no comic next Monday. Be back in two weeks.

Oh Dev, you destroyed it completely.
Eric, enjoy your more than well deserved vacation. (Did not expect you play this game in States 😀 )

Eric, have a good time at the beach! As for this episode, I think it shows how one person’s selfish behavior can have a toxic ripple effect which hurts others, even people who didn’t do anything wrong so don’t deserve it.

Goodbye Devon. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, it usually stings pretty badly.
Have a great vacation, Eric! I just got back from mine. 🙂

Maybe I’m just naive, but I didn’t read Devon’s exchange with Tori on the previous page as Devon seeking to give in to some kind of sexual attraction. I read it more like a friendly gesture and a way to show that she can be around Tori without any kind of continuation of what happened between them before. Right now it seems that I was wrong, but maybe it’s just Devon hurting, being unhappy and frustrated. It also could be her reaction to Anabel’s departure. But it’s probably all of that including the giving to the attraction part. What a sweet, dramatic mess!
Enjoy you vacation, Eric!

I don’t get Devon She was so close to getting Annabelle back, or at least to the point where they were talking again, but she not only screwed up her chance, she nuked it from orbit and then gloated about it to everyone else. Why would she destroy her one chance of reconciliation for a crush that she ADMITTED was bad for her? Is it the alcohol? She may not have gotten into a violent rage like Dave did, but she’s certainly burning her bridges with the rest of the gang. And, unlike Dave, I don’t think a former paramour will swoop in to teach her a much needed lesson…

Strong personality changes under the influence of alcohol can be a sign of alcoholism. However, I think it’s more likely that Devon is a victim of her own wishful thinking. She wants a permanent romantic partner but she has strong feelings for others. She found a partner who seemed perfect for her, yet deep down inside she’s just not ready for a committed relationship. Her recent personal life has all happened too fast for her to resolve the conflict between her long-term goals and her real ongoing desires.

Everyone’s take on Devon is pretty good. But I think Chris H comes the closest. Thanks everyone for taking such an interest in the characters.

Eric, you’re welcome and thanks for your kind comment.

This coms across as wildly out of character for her. Drama for dramas sake, but not really in line with the character in question
