  1. I hope the drive back has Emrys realizing his mom is still emotionally manipulating him. (Obvious from an outside prospective, but not always when it is happening)

Also, last panel, it looks like you missed a t on “it doesn’t matter”

  2. I believe there’s such a thing as being too responsible, and Emrys has that condition. I hope his friends can talk him into returning to Portland.

  3. … ok, so Emrys WILL be back in Portland just for his stuff, and I predict Stephanie could make her return at the party, he could shut her down and then move permanently to be with his mom.

Now the “foregone conclusion” has gotten blurred, since I thought Emrys had his stuff with him this trip and was just going to stay right then and there until Beth snapped him out of it. But now it might be that Geraldine is the final antagonist, and you just can’t say “no” to your MOM.

  4. The strangest thought popped in my head when Jeff was talking and I saw Dave’s expression in panel 3. I thought, “Dave doesn’t look like he’s happy about this and he’s going to give Emrys a cold reality check”. Dave has some bad family history, so it seemed like perfect timing and a credible source, but I guess he’s just sad like the rest of them. Jeff’s ebullient nature would have been a good influence on Emrys too, so I could see them being good roommates, but maybe in the future?

I know it’s just luck of the draw (no pun intended), but this is sort of a downer for a Friday. Just like life, the timing of sad news doesn’t come when it’s convenient for us, we just have to work our way through it. I trust Eric will shepherd us through this drop in the mood like he always does though, so I have hope for better days ahead, and I don’t just mean the ‘farewell’ party.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, if Saturday & Sunday is their weekend, and if not, well I hope your next break from the work week is good. πŸ™‚

  5. Come on gang, think outside the box! (I’m talking to the gang in the comic, not my esteemed fellow commenters.) Kidnap Geraldine, take her back to Portland, find her an apartment, introduce her to Mrs. McKrakkin πŸ™‚ She’ll learn to live without her stuff.

    1. Yeah, Geraldine switch from meds to cheap gin πŸ˜€

hahahahahaha! Oh lord, I think those two would kill each other.

    3. Yes! Make it so, practik. πŸ˜€

A lot of speculation going on here. So I’m having to keep my mouth shut until it’s all played out. πŸ™‚
