PROGRAMMING NOTE: So it seems this episode was scheduled to appear as normal, so not sure what happened to #957. I’m still in California but will be back later this week. So starting next week I’ll have two comics a week until the end of August and will start with the missing 957. Thanks again for all your patience.
Talk to JoJo, Jeff. If she knows what’s going on it will probably help. 🙂
Thanks for the heads up on the schedule change, Eric! Hope all is well with you and the family, all things considered.
Emrys is the man to ask when it comes to feeling unworthy, and he had a similar problem downstairs during his latter days with Stephanie. Although, in Emrys’s case, Stephanie always solved (or rather, set aside) all of Emrys’s frustrations with their relationship with sex, and once Emrys was physically unable to do it anymore, Steph revealed just how toxic and incompatible she was as a girlfriend. Jojo, on the other hand, has always been kind, compassionate, and funny, and as a girlfriend seems to be every bit as supportive of Jeff and his dreams as Steph was controlling and dismissive of Emrys’s. I think maybe Emrys has a point that Jeff feels unworthy of her, OR… perhaps his body is stopping itself from banging Jojp because it knows Jojo was the last person to have sex with Mark and, subconsciously, he doesn’t want to betray Mark for “stealing his girl” (Though it was obvious Mark didn’t have feelings for Jojo at all, since he called her “Shannon” in the throes of passion). It does happen sometimes. The “Bro Code” always states that a bro cannot steal another bros girl, even if the relationship is over or the first bro died. I don’t see Jeff consciously living by that law, but subconsciously he might be bound by it.
According to the late, great Burt Reynolds, a properly standup bro must respect a 6-month moratorium, starting on the day of the separation, before dating the bro’s former woman.

If I can find the video, I’ll try to post it.

That first panel dialogue is pretty great.

Jeff needs to relax a bit with Jojo,. He gets all stressed around her and performance anxiety kicks in, .

Before getting a prescription, Jeff may be better off talking to a therapist. That’s what I’d do if I were him.
