It's like old home week seeing the market again.
Devon's birthday party is coming up next. Lots of characters to draw. Always labor intensive. It seems I can't get ahead on the comics and by the end of the month I'm finding myself scrambling at the last minute to finish a strip going up the very next day. As you know, I've been working hard to improve the artwork, but that means more time on the comic and I don't always have the time. So here is what I'm going to do. The comic will still be twice a week except the last week of the month where it will just come out Monday (basically the last Friday of the month will be dark.)That one day a month will help immensely! I need to do this so I don't keep falling behind on the comic. (and I'd still like to see my family on the weekends) The funny thing is, I'll still be drawing the same amount of time, but this time it will allow me to be more consistently on time with posting the comic.
Still looking for new jobs but I refuse to go back into customer service. I just can't do it! I'm too old for this shit.
Hope everyone understands. I really love how the comic is looking these days and I want to keep the consistency of high quality artwork. See you next Monday for the Birthday party.

Eric, whatever you have to do to consistently produce a great story with quality art (Like you have from the beginning!), please do so.

Thank you. I really do appreciate it.

Well, this is a surprise! If I were asked something like that, I’d give it consideration.
bohemiannightsthecomic
Right? hard to turn down an offer coming to you.

I want him to say yes but mainly because I miss Lapooza’s 🙂

Also I like the last-Friday-of-the-month-off plan. Or whatever plan works for you!

Yeah, I kind of missed the ol store and Mr. Lapooza too. Also, thanks for your understanding and support.

Every time I try to get out, they suck me back in!
bohemiannightsthecomic
Haha. Sometimes it does feel that way.

Considering Emrys doesn’t even have a job, it sounds like an offer he can’t refuse! 😉

Go for it, Emrys. It will give you a leg up on experience for many jobs in the future, retail or otherwise and you already know that your boss is a decent guy. Well, and having a paycheck certainly won’t hurt anything. 🙂
Eric, whatever you decide to keep up with the comic is fine with me, I’m just happy that you are continuing it, because it’s become one of my favorites and I really look forward to each new page. Take care of you, your family and keep up the great work. 🙂

Belch Beer – – I love it

That’s a tough one, Emrys could work there and pursue his love of art on the side with Beth and Jeff to support him, besides it probably pays better than being a cashier. But Stephanie might pop in and well,,,. Also isn’t Beth looking for a job? It even sounds like he could possibly wind up owning it if Mr. Lapooza retires and i would imagine a section of it could be set up as a an art gallery.
ChrisH
Well, if I were Emrys, I would certainly ask Mr. Lapooza for advice on how to handle Desmond the meat carver. That dude’s kinda scary. @@

You have been the one creating this awesome content. I’ll be sunk I I’m going to complain about the scheduling!
Phoebus
Hard to turn down, BUT… Details, responsibilities, authority etc… Also if he’s going to manage the store he MUST be compensated accordingly. Lapooza is no spring chicken.
As to your schedule – you create, you develop, and more. And have a life outside of this fine product. Live your life, put food on the table and a roof over your head. This is your art. Your audience understands and will be there.
ChrisH
Eric, your new schedule is fine by me. I don’t need to tell you that many new tasks and problems pop up in life, so it’s a good idea to take the time needed to cope with them.

Big difference between minimum wage running of the register, and running a small business… with a high likelihood of OWNING said business in a few more years, if I’m reading the situation right.
Take it, Emrys. You’re not likely to find another path to being a business owner (of a proven successful business).
