Yeah, okay, Emrys is definitely saying all the same words I could imagine saying myself in his place. Dunno if that’s a good thing or not, but yeah, I understand you, Emrys, and I know I’d be just as serious about trying to convince Beth she was not at fault for anything while trying not to be an emotional wreck myself. Emotions are tricky things, but ultimately I think the good ones definitely override the bad ones. Beth is being very sweet and, though it would seem as surprising to me as it appears to be to Emrys, insecure about something she never had control over or should have ever thought was her “responsibility”. I mean, I definitely understand everyone has their unique perception on things and insecurities are typically not really rational, but like Emrys, no amount of “shoulda, woulda, coulda” would stop me from pursuing someone I felt that strongly about, especially not in a moment like that one. It’s not -just- about sex, it’s about emotional fulfillment. As long as they keep communicating openly and honestly, I think things will work out for the best. 🙂
Yes, Emrys, we are all well aware that you had a crush on Beth from the start, but Beth had her own issues to work out and it took a combination of Mark dying, Shannon realizing what she lost, calling Beth out on her toxic cycles so she didn’t make the same mistake Shannon made, and Beth having one more go around with a handsome guy who turned out to be a creep before she was actually ready to start a serious relationship with Emrys. There really was no way the relationship could have been pursued sooner given that Beth would gravitate to toxic guys whenever Emrys even hinted that he wanted something more. Also, Stephanie’s introduction made her SEEM like she was a chill girl. We didn’t see how clingy and toxic she could be until AFTER she slept with Emrys, and good sex can make a person blind to bad habits of their partner in real life.
You’re very right. It took a long time to get to here -for both of them. It just couldn’t have happened sooner. They both had to work on their own to get to this point.
