Gotta admit I expected this and was surprised at the same time. I really thought Mateo would be the one to deck Dave for acting like a desperate ass. But I totally called Stephanie showing up and demanding to know what Dave did with her pendant.
Really, why the hell did Steph keep Dave around when her plan of using him to make Emrys jealous backfired? I could understand maybe having some angry sex right after the plan blew up in her face, but Emrys and Beth’s relationship montage showed that some time had passed after that, so there’d really be no reason to keep Dave if he was on the outs with the entire group. I will say if Stephanie is the one to actually hit Dave… I wouldn’t mind it.
The Emrys/Beth montage was a bit out of place and was slated for after this farewell party for Mateo, but I chose to switch them at the last minute to make a more dramatic ending to the chapter coming up in a few more episodes (#1000). I suppose the montage could be an overall look of how their relationship was going without a specific day or time.
Dave and Stephanie did remain part time fuck buddies for a while after it was obvious her plan didn’t work but the event where Stephanie and Dave woke up and he took the pendent was to have happened the same day as the party later that night.
Hope that clears things up. π
Just by asking, how much time did happen between Stephanie trying to flaunt her new “relationship” with Dave and when Steph recieves the pendant. A couple days?
Bohemiannightsthecomic
I would say roughly about a week. They obviously haven’t spent every day (or night) together. But for whatever reason Stephanie still hung out with Dave. Maybe just for the sex, maybe because she considered him still easy to manipulate and a different opportunity may arise.
Yeah, Stephanie showing up wasn’t exactly surprising. And as I feared, Dave probably pawned her pendent to get his fix. The idiot’s going to end up in jail. After Mark, it’s now Dave’s turn to crash and burn, blaming everybody but himself for his misfortune. My fear is that he’ll end up dead just like Mark.
Dave. π If anyone could help you they would, but you wouldn’t acknowledge your need for it and actively pushed your friends away. As much as I hate to even think it, maybe time in jail would help put your life in perspective. I hope it doesn’t come to that though. π
Actually I think Dave’s downward spiral is because he blames himself for Mark’s death by sleeping with Shannon and ruining their relationship. He’s just trying to cover his feelings by acting like a teenager, then getting absolutely plastered by drugs. I don’t think Dave is going to die, but I do think he’s going to jail and will FINALLY ask someone for help, just like Shannon did with Emrys.
I’m glad you picked up on the guilt part of Dave’s spiral. And you already saw where this confrontation was leading a few episodes ago. (How are you reading my scripts? π
and “pendent” should be “pendant” and “‘ol” should be “ol'” (apostrophe should be in place of the missing D).

All the above mistakes should be fixed now.
Ugh! so sorry. I feel like an idiot on how well (or not well) I edited this page. I obviously need a full time editor. It’s funny, the scripts are correct but I often have to re-type them on the illustration to format space bubbles and so in the process, I obviously mistype quite a few things. Very humbling.
Thank you all for watching out for me. Sorry these sometimes get released with such mistakes.

very, very sorry, but there’s still an extra O in panel 5!
Love panel 5 with the visage diabolique, though I guess he’s already kinda sold his soul; also looks like the dude is going to get an up close and personal view of the wages of sin.
WORST. PARTY. EVER. Congratulations Eric, this is quite an achievement. The scary thing is, itβs all believable. Itβs like all the bad seeds have grown into poisonous plants.

London bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down and BURNING!!!
Now that’s what can be called bridge burning. And perhaps some jail time, that pendant had to be expensive af.

Diplomatic relations seem to be breaking down…

I would call Dave’s situation a free fall. And overdosing or “something stupid” by Dave is now quite probable π

great episode

As story arcs go, it’s not a happy one, but it’s progressing realistically & honestly, if somewhat time-compressed.

There’s only one ‘o’ in the word ‘lose.” Loose means “not tight.” Looser means “less tight.”

Thank you. I like that panel too. Trying hard to improve my art.

I must admit that as total meltdowns go, the one Dave just had were pretty nasty… and there is more to come.

I let it slide for a while, but if nobody else is going to say it…
… I appreciate the dark humor of that “Cheech & Chong” reference in the last panel.

YESSS! Kudos to you for catching that.

Hey … love how the story progresses.
But after reading tons of pages now i found out your RSS Feed is legitimatly broken. Hope you can fix it.
