Yeaahhhh… starting a conversation by boasting about the money you make is a REALLY dumb move. I’m now comparing this guy to Shannon’s Robert, and I can now see why Robert 1 is so appealing. (I’ve already designated the Robert that Beth flirted with in Vegas as Robert 2, even though he was introduced first.) I think Shannon had the right idea about just leaving the guy. He looks like he has an ego made out of toilet paper, and Devon messing with him might be a tad dangerous…
On some level, Devon seems to be operating as though she still had a demonic familiar who could provide backup.
I fear she may discover she’s not as untouchable as she was back then, & she might be risking Shannon’s wellbeing here.
This guy’s technique reads to me as a fragile ego, & sometimes that sort of guy can turn vicious if rejected.
Devon, this is the sort of behavior that gets you into trouble. It may seem harmless or well deserved, but ultimately it is self defeating because it reinforces negative habits that will haunt you sometime later in life. In this guy’s case though, it could be more immediate. Acting while your judgement is impaired, whether it be drugs, alcohol, lack of sleep, or emotional instability from something serious (like a romantic breakup), is setting you up for consequences for which you may not be prepared. Listen to Shannon, she’s been in your shoes and has hard earned wisdom.
While there are already several very good observations from the folks before me, so I won’t comment on those aspects, but I fear that there is all kinds of stupid going on here. One, thinking he’s harmless, letting him leave their sight to ‘get drinks’, are you kidding me?! That’s a classic way to get a Rohypnol cocktail. Follow that up with his lame attempt to impress, instead of just trying to be regular friendly, and he may have a horrible impression of our ladies already. I’ve met men (and a few women) that believe all women are gold diggers by nature and so, see everything as transactional… The old ‘bigger better deal’ to get you into the backseat, toilet, alley whatever. Yeah, that’s never a good thing. So, can they stay sober and safe? I don’t think either woman has the maturity for that so no matter what happens with the poor schlub who thinks he’s doing so well with them that he completely misses the cuts they have been flaying him with already, this night may not end well at all.

Oh brother, there’s one in every bar… Mr. Smooth is on the make. Alcohol makes some men extremely horny and that’s something every woman should know.
