1081 Hit me with your best shot

Happy New Year! Or... as good a new year it looks like we're going to get.

Thanks for letting me have an extra week off. I wish I could say I did something fun or interesting, but unfortunately I came down with a case of Shingles. Still have it. Managing with it.

But I suppose it could be worse. There's a lot worse in the world right now.

    Yup, Rich definitely had that coming. He deserved at least that for the bridge fence prank alone.

    That being said, do you think Rich might actually spill the beans to Beth as to what he’s actully been hired for? And if so, will Beth tell Stephanie about it? Steph’s still Beth’s archnemesis, but unlike Rich she DOES have a good side to her, and I do think she deserves to know what her father does to earn so much money that a super-expensive pendant necklace is just a small trifle instead of a huge endeavor.

      I don’t think that Rich will share anything at all and that if he somehow ends up doing it eventually, it will probably be an unintelntional oversharing in the process of hurting Beth in some way. Also, I wouldn’t call that bridge stunt a prank, even if Rich would say exactly that. I doubt that he’d bat an eye if Beth and Emrys ended up falling into the river.

      Speaking of archnemesis, Stephanie suddenly seems to be the least of Beth’s problems and I love it (in terms of storytelling). The darker tone of the recent pages is a breath of fresh air to me.

        I’m liking this more action oriented storyline a lot, too. I’m still setting up the rest of the plot but by the time the comic hits #1100 (the next chapter), the story will be in full swing.

    This doesn’t look good as far as Beth learning to control her temper. She could complain to her boss who I don’t think would tolerate any empy harassment from Rich.

    Not that he doesn’t deserve worse for how he has treated Beth, but something tells me that this is going to end up hurting Beth a lot more than Rich.

    Hang in there, Eric! I know shingles can be a really nasty and painful illness to deal with (had it once before – ugh, horse pills), but you can get through it. 🙂 Also, I know you don’t have a positive outlook for the year, but better days are ahead, we just have to keep putting one foot forward ahead of the other until we get there. Hold on champ, the best is yet to come. 🙂
