#571 No One is to Blame

Deflectors #3 has arrived and ready to snap up. Come grab it at the BohemianNights.Storenvy.com store front. It is, in my humble opinion, the best one yet. Andy Macphee out did himself on the artwork. It is truly something to see. But don't take my word for it. Grab a copy today. Or buy all four Bohemian Comics for the price of three for just $15! Or you can pick up a copy in person at Jet City Comic Con November 3-4 where both myself and Andy will be promoting the comics. Patreons of $5 or more will be getting their copies in the mail in the next week or so. I only got two more conventions this year and that's it....for a long time. I will not be doing ANY conventions next year, or maybe even the year after. Some financial hardships of late have made me look carefully at all the conventions I've been doing and I'm afraid its time to cut back. I'm not going to say I won't ever do any more conventions but it may be a few years before I do. So if you want to see me at one, you got two more chances: Jet City Comic Con in Tacoma WA Nov. 3-4 and Eucon Comic Con in Eugene OR Nov 10-11. (back to back weekends...yikes!)

  1. Ouch. I understood that Shannon was upset due to her close relationship with Mark, but somehow I hadn’t quite made it down this road; the whole Emrys and Stephanie dynamic had me distracted. Poor Shannon! Listen to Mateo, lady!

Sorry to hear about your financial troubles, those always seem to crop up when you least want them to, but I’m glad to hear that you can still keep your currently booked conventions. On that note, I have another good blog post to share from Michael Terraciano, creator of Dominic Deagan: Oracle for Hire and StarPower: http://www.starpowercomic.com/senpai-didnt-notice-me/

I don’t always agree with him, but I do find that a lot of his blog posts are insightful and helpful even if you have to apply the lesson to a different situation, and learning is what life is all about, Charlie Brown. 🙂

Thank you. That was a good blog post. Yet another trap I got to watch myself from doing from time to time.
-His comic is pretty damn good, too.
I am still amazed how many web comics are out there that I’ve still not discovered. Then realize just how big the pool is and it’s no wonder it takes time to make it in this little artistic corner.

    1. Yep. I read probably 40-50 an a relatively regular basis (including this one) and that’s like a spot on the head of a pin. There are thousands of comics online even if not all of them are actively updating. Some of my favorites that I keep in a ‘Stalled’ folder haven’t updated in months, but so long as they’re online I like to know that I can check back on them later, just in case. A lot of times the artist does the comic as a hobby or side project and does freelance work, or works in the comics or games industry (sometimes both!), to pay the bills, but I’ve come across others that are just normal working Joes like yourself. To keep it in perspective, there are a lot of hard working comickers out there and though the field may be vast, it’s a drop in the ocean when compared to a world full of people. 😉

Oh, and I can confirm that I’ll be attending Jet City Comicon on November 3rd; tickets are already purchased. I’m bringing along a friend and his wife, my older sister and her kids (sort of a birthday gift for both of them), and possibly more, so it’s going to be quite an event for me. I’ll be sure to find time to swing by your table and say hello. 🙂
