#709 Time of your Life

UPDATE:

Okay...let's just say this week never happened. Between building people displacing everything and EVERYONE being sick, it was a total wash-out. I'm finally feeling better now and just now working on the next comic, so let's start it all up again this coming  Monday and we'll pretend this week never happened. Sorry for the unexpected break in the comic.   Oh, it's chaos over here at the home. Remodeling the bedroom and bathroom. Things are all over the place. My wife and I have been displaced to the living room where my computer work station is. My wife works early so as a result goes to bed early. The problem with that is now I'm no longer able to draw at night for the next week or two. I am still able to squeeze in time some of the mornings and on the weekend, but as a result I don't think there will be a comic this coming Monday. I'll try to get one out by next Friday though, and I think I'll have March's Midnight Edition done sometime next week as well. Sorry for the disruptive schedule. It should only last a week or two. Fingers crossed.

  1. So take a photograph and still frame in your mind
Hang it on a shel in good health and good time
Tattoos and memories and dead skin on trial
For what it’s worth, it was worth all the while

It’s something unpredictable but in the end it’s right
I hope you had the time of your life

A perfect song for this comic.

  2. In Czech, we have proverb “Myslet, znamená hovno vědět” (To think, means know shit). And here it applies way too much. I thought Emrys just fly to Cali to help mum move and return back to Oregon. Now it seems to me, that he moves too. And that’s bad. He is depressed now and he will be even more, when he’ll be under his mom oppresive influence. BTW I have to remember term “Horizontal refreshment”. That really made me laugh 🙂

And Eric, take your time and don’t feel sorry about it. If I take in mind you have job, wife, family and house reconstruction, you update very often and regularly. You have my deep respect. I wish you luck.

Thank you so much. I’m hoping all the chaos ends in a week or so.

  3. Well, despite the fact that I know Emrys is under a lot of emotional and psychological stress right now, maybe moving out is the best option for the time being? He can’t afford to pay rent without a job, so he certainly can’t afford to keep the apartment while he’s out of town and not working. He still has a cell phone and I’m sure they all have his number, so even if he doesn’t get in touch with them to let them know what’s going on, you can bet that one of them will wonder what he’s up to and drop him a line soon. It might be difficult to convince him to come back to Portland over the phone, but they will always have, to use a Poker phrase, “an ace in the hole”, so long as Beth is part of the group. He might be upset with her right now, but once he knows the real story it will be hard for him to deny his feelings. Love and loss are two sides of the same coin, and I believe Beth knows that already, and Emrys is halfway to understanding it.

I believe that it’s only a matter of time before Emrys finds his way back to where he truly belongs. 🙂

      Well said.
      Yes he will.

  4. This episode shows how important communication is. His friends are clueless about what’s going on in his life. I hope they get updated by Emrys soon.

Keep in mind, time wise it’s only been two days since Emrys and Stephanie broke up, and the following night Emrys walked over to Beth’s house and saw her and Rich. So they may not have had time to reach out just yet.
…but yeah…they are a little clueless most days anyway.

  5. Clueless characters are usually funnier characters 🙂

  6. If there is new page at Monday, I´d say “It went better than expected.”
