861 Setting up

I am in the thick of retail hell now. Busy but manageable. I can't tell how much I appreciate temporarily posting the comic to once a week. It is really saving my sanity. It won't be long either before I go back to my usual scheduled of twice a week. -just a few more weeks to go. Also scrambling to go to Emerald City Comic Con. Oh man, is that a huge convention. Four levels of show floors? Are you kidding me? Four days? It's going to be nuts! But if you are in Seattle or in the northwest, please come by. I'm on level 6 in artist alley table EE-13...wherever that is. I'll be there all four days with my Drinker's Hell game and new Bohemian Nights books. Get tickets soon. Some days are already sold out. Β  Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I have a lot to be thankful for and one big one is all of you. Thank you.

  1. IΒ΄d think about that. It is just like 6000 miles in heavy-covid times πŸ˜€ BTW shorturl.at/gwxFX for image πŸ™‚

Do you mean the travel to the convention? It’s only about a three hour drive from Portland. Doable. I’ve waited so long to go there, nothing is going to keep me away.

      1. I wish I could sympathize; my retail days are in the distant past, and it was in a family-held neighborhood general store in the rural-becoming-suburban areas in the Central Valley before retail became what it is today, pre-mall. I *watched* three malls sprout and grow and eventually decay and re-boot.

Ah yes, I remember those days well too.

      2. I meant my journey to Convention. From Central Europe πŸ˜€

          of course. 6000 miles. (face-plant) πŸ™‚

    2. A Reader from Germany

You can pick me up in the northern part of Germany, I’ll chip in for gas πŸ˜‰

      1. Well, I thought about airplane at first, but OK. I just have to learn my Fabia how to swim πŸ™‚

  2. I have officially joined you int retail hell and need some advice, first off is there a hierarchy? like grocery store people look down on gas station attendants or such?

Hahaha, I hope not. I think we all realize we’re all in this together.

  3. I wish I could go to ECCC but I live in southern oregon and can’t afford to go to that one cause my wife wants to go to the Salt Lake City con with her parents in september so we have to save up for that one.

I really hope Eugene comic con comes back next year. I really enjoyed going to that one.

  4. I’m not sure all the reasons why Beth & Emrys are keeping this under wraps at the moment, though I suppose it’s so new that they want it to be without any attention for the time being. Either way, it’s nice to see they’re just acting like their normal selves. Also, it’s fun seeing Jeff’s life head in a new direction with purpose. πŸ™‚

Wish I could make it to ECCC and say “Hi!” in person again, Eric, but this is the busiest time of year for me both at work and with family, so it’s just not in the cards. Why they moved it to December is beyond me, but I hope you have a good time! I’m strongly considering going to JetCity ComicCon in Tacoma when it returns next year, but I haven’t bought tickets yet. Even so, if you use Discord (free voicechat and such), you can find me there with the same handle I use here. πŸ™‚

aww, I wish you were going too. Was looking forward to seeing you again. But there is always next year and hopefully more conventions will return (covid permitting.)
I’ll look into Discord too. πŸ˜‰

      1. Yeah, gotta help my older sister and her kids with the Christmas tree (long story) this weekend, so that takes the only weekend day I would normally have free out of the picture. I haven’t been to ECCC since 2012 I think, and even then it was too crowded for me to really enjoy because it’s a sensory overload, but if you’re there next year I’ll do my best to attend. πŸ™‚

No pressure on the Discord thing either, just offering it now that I use it myself. I’m barely competent using it, really only use the person to person chat and the channels a gaming friend added me to, but it seems to be a good program and it’s not hard drive or resource intensive from what I can tell, which is always a plus. Who knows, maybe you’ll want to create a group for the comic?

  5. Emrys should not fib to Jeff about who he’s texting. It’s just so easy to get caught doing that. Otherwise, everything seems to be going smoothly enough.

  6. Well shit, it looks like I ran out of comics to read.

Been loving this comic since I found it, the art and story are really engaging.
Having spent 14 years in IT, most of that on the phones, I can feel your pain.
I now work in a warehouse, and I am so glad I made that change. My muscles ache at the end of the day, but the boxes don’t abuse me or make the same stupid mistakes every day.

I’ll be a new Patreon subscriber very soon mate.
