I can't believe I fit twelve characters in that last panel! I must have been channeling my inner George Perez. Thank you all for all your kind words and support as I go through some crazy stuff with my health. Slowing down is never easy but it does seem like it's the right thing to do for the time being. I'm still looking forward to many years on this comic, it just may be a little slower than I would have liked. I'm still hopeful down the road I can return to twice a week, but for now, it is what it is. You all are amazing fans and I appreciate each and every one of you. Thanks for supporting me.

  1. Yup. Mark is missing way too much. Especially at such occasion. πŸ™

To lighter side. “I canΒ΄t believe heΒ΄s gonD.” by Sean at second panel. I personaly know just Gondwana, ancient continent, when whole landmass was one piece. But that is not this case here. Probably there should be gonE. πŸ™‚

Thanks. The typo is now fixed.

  2. Maybe Mark was one of those Gondwanaland Separatists… but was he an Eastern Gondwanaland Separatist or a Western Gondwanaland Separatist?
    Neither is to be trusted.

      Hahaha!

  3. Here’s to you, Mark. One doesn’t have to be Irish to appreciate a universal sentiment and I hope this will be sung when it’s my time to rise.

    The Parting Glass

Of all the money that e’er I had
I spent it in good company
And all the harm I’ve ever done
Alas, it was to none but me
And all I’ve done for want of wit
To memory now I can’t recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Of all the comrades that e’er I had
They’re sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e’er I had
They’d wish me one more day to stay
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I’ll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
La ra la ra la la
    La lala lala la la
    La ra lala la la
La la la lala la la
But since it fell into my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I’ll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
So fill to me the parting glass
And drink a health whate’er befalls
Then gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be to you all
Good night and joy be to you all

That’s a great song/poem. I wouldn’t mind that being spoken when I leave this world.

Well, there is also Auld Lang Syne.

    1. You seem to have missed the 1912 Harry Lauder recording at .

      1. Misplaced: s/b to Gorbi1985. (I blame senescence)

  4. Cheers, Mark. And Mateo: You should write a song about this. Turn your sadness into art.

  5. Somewhat Scary:
The older you get, the more sense Pink Floyd lyrics are starting to make…

    1. My best friend died last year and his brother did an acoustic solo version of “Wish You Were Here” at his memorial service. it might seem like an over-obvious choice, but it’ll never be the same for me.

      1. bohemiannightsthecomic

That is another great song. I’m sure that was very fitting under that circumstance.

    2. Did you mispronounce one of the several names of any of the great Blues men and women of the period before mass-market rock and roll?

  6. I miss Mark. Sure, he wasn’t the most stable guy, mentally or otherwise, but he was a good dude at his core.

    1. I think Mark was probably as stable as most people in his circumstances at his age, so I certainly don’t hold that against him. Sure he made choices I don’t agree with, so have all the cast, but I still like him. One of the lessons you [hopefully] learn as you grow older is learning to appreciate a person for their good qualities more than the bad. Some people just don’t get along well for whatever reasons, I’ve met a handful in my time, but for the majority of the people we meet it’s just a matter of learning how to communicate more effectively with one another. πŸ™‚

      1. Oh, I didn’t say what I said as an insult. I myself am a bit unbalanced. Emotionally and mentally.

He kind of reminded me of me. Minus the drugs and drinking, that is.

        1. In hindsight I can see my reply might be interpreted as a rebuke since I used “you” instead of “we”, a common mistake of mine as I tend to think conversationally “you”, which I tend to think of in terms of phrases like, “you never know”, or “you’d think they would know better by now”, and similar things that in person make sense, but typed out can easily be taken as personal or directly “you”. Sorry about that, not my intention! πŸ™‚

Oh, and happy Friday, folks! πŸ™‚

  7. Just for fun. I guess I found my first comment. 19th January 2020 at page 458 πŸ˜€ Damn, time flies.

  8. Mark is still a character in this webcomic. That’s fine with me. πŸ™‚
