I think she could have handled that better and probably still managed to skip the funeral, but she’s young, (apparently) jaded and not good at explaining how she feels. For some reason I get the impression that she really isn’t as hard as nails as she appears to be, she’s just really good at keeping people at bay with her spikey shell. I’ve met people like her, and I’m sorry to say that in many cases I wasn’t brave enough to tough it out; sometimes you just have to cut your losses and let them find their own way.
Suffice to say, hang in there, Emrys. You’ll either melt her hardened heart or drive her away with your genuine affection and sincerity. The ball is in her court now.
I had a girlfriend who had some of the same spiky traits as well and I too eventually had to cut my losses and let it go.
We’ll just have to wait and see which way Emrys goes.
(As of this writing, even I haven’t decided…)
If it’s any consolation, if the relationship between them ends, I don’t think it will be because of Emrys, I think it’ll be because Stephanie isn’t willing to let herself be vulnerable enough to actually develop feelings for him. True, it’s always a two way street in a relationship, but sometimes one side needs to remember that when the light is green, it means proceed. Relationships aren’t easy, but ultimately they help us to grow individually as well as together.
I’m just wondering how long Emrys will hold onto the relationship once it goes toxic. Funny, just like Beth was prone to do. And will Beth be the first to recognize the signs and what will she do. We all want them together eventually, right?

I think she’s shallow. I hope Emrys finds someone nicer, which I think he deserves.
